Only an Hour.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Me Time.”

When I reflect on my personal time and time for me to unwind and recharge. My mind triggers back to camp in which you get an hour of me time a day with the exceptions of the weekends and then I am so infatuated with being around my friends that I don’t make time for myself. But in the summer you have an hour before the campers wake up. So when that alarm clock goes off at 6:40 a.m. you are out of bed and going to the porch. This time is your time to recharge and really get quality time with the Lord. It is your chance to really focus on what you are learning and how you can be a better counselor for that day. This time for myself usually included a shower which helped me reflect on my campers and my daily tasks that way once I was done with my shower it was all time for me and God. This turned out to be a complete game changer for me as a counselor. When I took the opportunity  to go out and get into the Bible and study God’s word I was rejuvenated. I was a whole new person. I was able to go a full day of camp and never truly feel super tired and bogged down. Everything excited me and make me crave more. I wanted to be there and I wanted to be satisfying my craving to glorify the Lord. This time alone was only hour but it made the other twenty three hours so much more sweeter when I was able to not focus on so many others hearts, minds, desires, and needs. But to focus on the needs of my heart and let them be fulfilled with Spirit of the Lord.
